Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in One Location

We offer classes in both Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). Our Judo classes are personally taught by one of the most outstanding instructors in California, Dr. Zibi Piec. Our BJJ classes are taught by World Champions Saulo and Xande Ribeiro through our brother school, the University of Jiu Jitsu.

The Longest Running Martial Arts School in San Diego

San Diego Judo was originally established in 1949. Founded by Sensei Al Holtmann as the Southern California School of Judo and Jujitsu, we were the only martial arts school in San Diego until 1960. Following Sensei Holtmann’s passing in December 2001, San Diego Judo was reorganized as a federal 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation.

Now, with our long-term partnership with the University of Jiu Jitsu, we have come full circle, again offering the finest instruction in California for both Judo and Jiu-Jitsu.
